Our last wedding of the season at Vista was a very special one.
Vista’s sous chef of 11 years wed his longtime lady love.
Jen sure was a patient bride!
Dave and Jen had an intimate ceremony on the beautiful Vista terrace with the Colorado mountains and fall foliage in the background.
Dave’s brother was the ceremony officiant under a handmade aspen arch with the words “Love” on a burlap banner hanging from the arch. With the large flower pots that line Vista’s patio, the natural background needed no other decor.
After the ceremony the real party started. They kicked off the reception with a cocktail hour on the patio and a large buffet dinner. This was not the traditional wedding reception, plated Vista dinner, but a BBQ with flare. Being a chef, Dave wanted the best! The main entree this evening was a whole smoked Tender Belly pig. Chef Michael smoked the pig overnight and sliced and quartered it right before dinner was served.
Some of the other foods served: Grilled trout and chicken, farm fresh tomato caprese, three bean salad, coleslaw, mixed green salad and pasta salad. Our kitchen made two delicious BBQ sauces, one from Colorado Palisade Peaches and one from Mike’s Hard Lemonade. Dave’s favorite drink is Mikes Hard Lemonade so as a prank the chef’s in the kitchen put one in the pigs mouth!
The couple and guests noshed on the always delectable Batter cupcakes as seen on Cupcake Wars. We are so lucky to have Liz and her awesome creations brought to Vista events.
No Colorado mountain wedding is complete without a little bluegrass! Our friend Harvey and his band kept everyone’s feet moving the entire night. (This picture is of his band setting up, a very relaxed band.)
This couple was full of happiness and ease during their ceremony and reception, they want to thank everyone that was involved for making this day the “most special and memorable day of their lives.”
Thank you Dave and Jen! We had a wonderful time planning and executing your Colorado wedding.
